Hi, I’m looking for the BBC radio play ‘The One Before The Last’ which I think was broadcast in 1987 and is about a crucial period in the life of WWI poet Rupert Brooke.

Thank you.

  Poetry Please
Posted by: Asteroid - 11-21-2018, 11:05 PM - Forum: Requests - Replies (3)

I'm more into science fiction, thriller and crime radio, but I've managed to raise a 7 year old radio iPlayer fan who is into poetry and romance drama after her bedtime story.

My daughter was very disappointed not to be able to listen to Roger McGough and Poetry Please as there is none on the iPlayer App at the moment.

So please, does anyone have any Poetry Please to upload here?

IB Singer play - with Maurice Schwartz
Posted by: johnfalstaff - 11-08-2018, 11:39 AM - Forum: Requests - No Replies

a very interesting mention of an IB Singer play. has anyone heard this or heard of it?

"I also read Jewish stories on the radio as a teenager. Later I worked with Maurice Schwartz, the founder of the Yiddish Art Theater. In the '20s he staged a dramatization of a play written by I.J. Singer. Schwartz brought I.J. to New York to celebrate the success of the play, and I.J. brought his brother, Isaac Bashevis Singer. And that's how Isaac Bashevis Singer came to America."

anyway here is the radio show he mentions:
